Crisis response plan
One page. In order.
The short version of the safety guide: who to call for what, what to do first, and what the next hour looks like. Screenshot it before you lose signal on the drive in.
Tell 911 you are at
105 Arrow Way
Mineral Bluff, GA 30559 · Fannin County
Who to call
Find the line that matches what's happening. When two could apply, 911 wins.
Someone is hurt, can't breathe, fire, smoke, gas smell, flooding, anyone in danger
911
Say: "105 Arrow Way, Mineral Bluff, GA 30559, Fannin County." A cabin on a gravel drive — describe your car.
Something was swallowed and you're not sure it's an emergency
Georgia Poison Center
They'll tell you whether to drive in or watch at home. Free, 24 hours.
An injury you can drive with — deep cut, suspected break, snake bite
Blue Ridge Medical Center
2855 Old Highway 5 North, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 · 15 min from the cabin
Anything wrong with the cabin — leak, no power inside, lock, heat, hot tub
Casago guest support (24/7)
Message through your VRBO or Casago reservation. They alert us and dispatch a local tech.
Power is out on the whole road, not just the cabin
Blue Ridge Mountain EMC (power outages)
Report it, then keep the fridge closed. Outages here are usually weather and usually short.
A non-urgent police matter — suspicious car, noise, a wandering dog
What to do
The same five steps as the safety guide, because they're the ones that matter.
- 1
Call 911 first
For anything involving injury, fire, smoke, a gas smell, flooding, or someone in danger. Fannin County dispatch sends fire, EMS, and the sheriff from one call.
- 2
Give the address slowly
105 Arrow Way, Mineral Bluff, GA 30559 (Fannin County). Mention it's a cabin on a gravel road and describe your car so responders can spot you.
- 3
If your phone has no bars, use Wi‑Fi calling
Wi‑Fi calling reaches 911 from the cabin. Turn it on in your phone's settings if you haven't already, and keep the cabin Wi‑Fi connected during your stay.
- 4
Get everyone out, then stay out
For fire, smoke, or a gas smell: leave the doors open behind you, gather at the driveway, and don't go back inside for belongings.
- 5
Then message guest support
Once everyone is safe, message Casago through your VRBO or Casago reservation. They're staffed around the clock and will alert us and dispatch a local tech if the cabin needs attention.
Timeline
What a well-handled emergency looks like from the first minute onward.
First 60 seconds
Get safe, get help coming
- Move everyone away from the danger — outside for fire, smoke, or gas; away from water for a leak near outlets.
- Call 911 on speaker so your hands are free. No bars? Turn on Wi‑Fi calling.
- Give the address first, then what happened, then how many people.
Minutes 1–5
Stabilize and count heads
- Do exactly what the dispatcher says — they'll walk you through pressure, CPR, or positioning.
- Count people and dogs. Assign one adult to the driveway so responders can spot the cabin.
- Don't go back inside a building you left for fire, smoke, or gas.
Minutes 5–30
Help arrives, or you drive
- If 911 said to drive, one person drives and one sits with the patient. The nearest ER is listed above.
- Grab phones, chargers, ID, and any medication — nothing else.
- Once everyone is safe, message Casago through your reservation so we know.
The first hour
Loop in the people who can fix things
- Cabin damage or a utility problem: Casago dispatches a local tech and updates us.
- Whole-road power outage: report it to Blue Ridge Mountain EMC.
- Note the time things happened — helpful for doctors, insurance, and us.
Later today and tomorrow
Recover and decide the rest of the stay
- Follow-up care: urgent care and pharmacies are on the Resources page.
- If the cabin can't be stayed in, Casago handles rebooking or refunds under your booking's policy — you don't have to negotiate it mid-crisis.
- Tell us what could have been clearer here. We'll change the page.
First-aid basics, the crisis FAQ (gas, alarms, leaks, bears, winter roads) and the full audited ER and urgent-care list are in the safety guide. Vets and pharmacies are on Resources.
